- Our wedding ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2014, at 4:00 in the afternoon. It will be at Augustana Lutheran Church of Hyde Park, located at 5500 South Woodlawn Avenue in Chicago.
- Details: this ceremony will be somewhat non-traditional. We won't have a bridal party. There won't be a procession or flower girls or ringbearers, human or canine. But it will be excellent and you should totally come if you can! We're not bucking tradition to try and offend anybody; it's just that we're not strongly attached to many of the elements of a traditional wedding. Instead, we want to focus on celebrating with the people we love and preparing for a life together in a way that feels authentic and meaningful to us.
- Parking: the church has a small parking lot; if you are uncomfortable with finding curbside parking, please plan to arrive a little early, as the church parking lot will likely fill up fast. For the rest, there should be plenty of street parking on the surrounding blocks, and most of it is free.
- Mass Transit: the best option for getting to the wedding from downtown is linked here. Description: take the #6 bus south from downtown, exiting at the 55th and Hyde Park stop in the Hyde Park neighborhood. From there, you can catch a #55 bus on 55th street, heading west until you reach Woodlawn, right across from the church. Total trip time from downtown is around 45-60 minutes on a weekend. (The other options given on Google maps are not recommended.)
